Could 2024 be the decline of fast fashion consumers? Society is becoming more concerned than ever with the sustainable, ethical and social responsibility of the brands they shop from, to the point it may even impact who they purchase from. Here at Styelle Swim, we foster a community of conscious consumers looking to make an impact. Fast fashion has long dominated the market for its cheap prices and wear once throwaway culture fostered by the ever-evolving, fast-paced world of social media and FAD-driving influencers. However, are we as a society becoming more than ever informed on the truth behind these companies' horrifying processes to a desire for the new claimed staple wardrobe over trend-driven garments? 


At Styelle Swim, fast fashion has never had a past, present or future. Born with a strong and underpinning ethos of sustainability, we built from the ground up an ethical fashion business encouraging a community of conscious shoppers. Can you imagine a future with no fast fashion giants on our high street or online? It’s hard to even envision after the last decade's uproar and hype. But let’s remember ethical concerns have never been higher among us consumers.


The fashion industry undoubtedly has a detrimental effect on climate change, you have to wonder how much longer fast fashion has to reign before the law steps in, consumers cancel it or it all comes crashing down.


Today, fast fashion stands for everything we fight against, encouraging throwaway culture, inhumane and unethical working conditions for those making your clothes, and endless pollution. The WWF reports, ‘If nothing changes by 2050 some estimate the industry will be responsible for a quarter of the world’s carbon budget’ That’s just 25 years away. The impact is astronomical and yet do these businesses care? They are born on a means to simply feed this negative output. I think that answers it for you. 


That’s why at Styelle Swim we intend to be the change, be everything fast fashion is not and build a long-standing community of conscious shoppers building positive change to the fashion industry.
