Europe’s Fast-fashion World - Is It Possible To Shop Sustainably?

Europe’s Fast-fashion World - Is It Possible To Shop Sustainably?

Anyone living in Europe right now will know fast fashion dominates the market. From Pretty Little Thing to Boohoo, it is all we see and yet we all continue to shop there despite the ethical scandals brought to light over the years. However, it looks like 2022 is the year of change, with Missguided heading into administration and UK’s top hit show Love Island dumping its fast-fashion giant sponsorships for pre-loved empires. Although Europe may not have the greatest weather all the time, there is a lack of swimwear brands who aren’t on the fast fashion band wagon.

Sustainability is no longer an option and consumers globally are becoming more and more conscious shoppers. Brands can no longer get away with greenwashing, as people become more aware of the importance of transparency. We, as women today consume more clothes than generations before us have ever before. At some point in time, we stopped buying things we really loved and started putting quantity over quality. And although our closest are full, we still raise the concern of ‘ I have nothing to wear’. How many times have you sat in front of your wardrobe looking lost? It’s time we changed the way we shopped so we can open a wardrobe full of clothes we love.

But how can we shop more sustainably and make a conscious positive impact to look after our planet? Well, it’s easier than you think. Let’s destroy these generations damaging shopping habits and create a new path for future generations together…

Quality over Quantity

Start purchasing timeless pieces you love, not the latest current FAD trend. Although it might seem easier to spend less on multiple pieces, chose to spend more on one really high-quality piece you will wear forever. Focusing on high-quality pieces made to last that you truly love will build your dream capsule wardrobe. Styelle Swim designs from the very beginning with timelessness in mind to offer swimwear that doesn’t have to rely on trends but on what you really love. Whether that be a classic red one shoulder or a high neck two-piece, our styles are made to stand the test of time.

Biodegradable Fabrics

Purchasing biodegradable garments means there is less to enter our landfills each year. We are closing the loop, with garments breaking down or becoming re-fabricated there is nothing left to go to waste. Wear something you’re proud of and you know will not impact the environment. We direct all our efforts here into producing sustainable none toxic swimwear from biodegradable materials (all ethically sourced of course) while even considering a carbon positive supply chain. It doesn't get more sustainable than that. With a constant focus to get better each year and find new ways to be sustainable, you can rely on us to bring your values to life.

Buy Back Scheme

If you were looking for another way to be sustainable, Styelle has you covered. We have launched a programme to make having a wardrobe clear out a simple task. No more waste bags full of clothes heading to the tips or dumps or shoved in your wardrobe never to be seen again. It’s never too late to begin collecting timeless, eco-friendly options, so we intended to offer you this chance with our programme making it super easy to dispose of your old swimwear and gaining rewards for making the conscious switch.
